I’ve done it!! I have finally completed my first scarf! It was a little rough, to say the least. If you look at the edges, you can see that I mean this both literally and figuratively 😛 The granny squares themselves were relatively easy to crochet, but I had a VERY difficult time connecting them all together! Now I just need to weave in all the loose ends and then block the entire thing (hopefully that will even it out a bit). In the meantime, I’ve decided to name it Norma. Do people do that, name their work? I’m new to this entire arts and crafts thing, so I’m not sure how else to discern between pieces!

Welcome to the world, Norma. I think it’s a great name for a scarf – and a beautiful scarf it is, too 🙂
It’s beautiful ! I wish I could still remember how to crochet, been so long since I was just a kid 🙂
Oh thank you!! And crochet is SO easy, you’d pick it back up again in no time! I’m the least hand/eye coordinated person EVER and not crafty at all, but it only took me a few days before I got the hang of it. When you have a chance you should definitely watch some youtube tutorials and you’ll be back in business 😉
mmm will give it a whirl 🙂
If you make another scarf, you can call it Norman and then make a pair of little glove Normina and Normando to complete the family…
Great job making the scarf! The colours evoke thoughts of Thanksgiving, no?
